Hi, everyone!
I am excited about another great year of teaching English at Lewisburg High. Since I was a junior in high school, I always wanted to be an English teacher. So after thirteen years in the classroom, I can definitely say I'm living my version of the dream. It is definitely a messy, chaotic dream but teaching teenagers keeps me young. In 2007, I graduated from Delta State University and began my teaching career at Center Hill High. I moved to Lewisburg in the fall of 2013, and I have been blessed to teach everything from 9th grade, all the way to 12th grade. I have a Master's Degree in English Education from the University of Mississippi, and in 2014 I earned National Board Certified status in English Language Arts. I believe in working hard, and I love to learn new things.
On a more personal note, I am married to my exact opposite (mathematically minded/ introverted), and we have two lovely daughters (a kindergartener and a two year old) that are each other's exact opposites, as well. My hobbies include reading, quilting, geeking out/ arguing anything Star Wars, listening to Podcasts, and drinking copious amounts of coffee (iced caramel macchiatos to be precise).
I love helping students find books that generate a love of reading, and I hope I can find your child or you a good book to read. I'm looking forward to a great year. Thank you for stopping by.
